Do you know what the differences between PDM and PLM are? Let us have a look at them.

PDM (Product Data Management) systems take care of administering data concerning given products, including their working processes. This area includes CAD models, drawings, bills of materials, NC code, product specifications and other necessary information relevant in this large field.

PLM (Product Life-cycle Management) can be viewed on as a higher level of PDM. It is an information system closely related to ERP (Enterprise Resource Management) and reviews the entire life cycle of each product. Compared with PDM, it has a much wider scope, ranging from the production to customers. It is worth emphasising that, for the proper implementation, all organisational aspects including the mode of operation must be taken into account; but the particular solution would, of course, depend on an analysis of your needs.
